Good Luck Fuzzy, your team came to play. The  best quote from a disgruntled fan was "where was the guy for the Heimlich". Fans are demanding a new coach but this was a total team CHOKE.
Rick

Needless to say, all my diehard Raider fan friends have referred to the Bolts as the chokin' Chargers for decades, but who are they to talk these days?

                                                                                              GEAUX SAINTS,

                                                                                              J Dawg

Instead of bringing the Raiders into it why don't you bring your sorry Cleveland Browns into it.  Now you change to Geaux Saints?  Now I am a Diehard Raider fan and I didn't say anything about the Chargers.  I would always take my Raiders over any team to go into the SuperBowl. But since you brought the Raiders into it I will say something now. And make no mistake,  I am glad we gave the Chargers Norv Turner.  That is the best Raider Play we have made.   We may be terrible right now but so are your Cleveland Browns.  And as well as the Chargers do now,  I will take the Raiders SuperBowls over the Chargers non-Super Bowls and the Cleveland Browns non-Super Bowls.

We've gotten to the Super Bowl with different teams and won with different teams so I love having all the great different Raider Players that we have had.  I love some of the players we have now, especially Nnamdi Asomugha.  He has conducted himself so well for the team and is a Raider team leader.  We are so lucky to have him.

We have some strong deficiencies that have to do with infrastructure and I am not sure how that will be corrected.  We do have some very tough problems to overcome in order to get back on the right track.  Some very hard decisions and more beneficial decisions have to be made.  Their are some very hard working Raider Players on the team right now and some slackers.  But for the hard working Raider Players and the loyal Raider Fans I hope they can make some better decision so all the good Raider Players can see their hard work come to fruition.

Even with his age, I do not think it is probable that he will resign now.  Since he hasn't done it yet I don't know when that will happen.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I have no emotional ties to any of the remaining teams, apart from a sort of moral obligation to stand with my son, who lives in Indy. So, for that reason, and because I think a showdown between the old and current masters would be appropriate for the final, I'd like to see a Manning vs. Favre shootout. big_smile

Yep, Rivercat, Al has done his own thing forever and sometimes it seems that he really has no care for the fans or winning. My brother in law is a long time Raiders fan and he suffers like the rest of you. We love the rivalry but lately, it seems that pity is more appropriate. There hasn't been a team in the Colosseum worthy of the name for a long time. There's a spark or glimmer sometimes but it is quickly extinguished by Al's actions.

No spat, just winners crowing and losers licking wounds. (and snarling and snapping at the rest of the pack) wink

You were really mistreated! No NFL updates?
Well, a synopsis: a couple of a$$ whoopings, a couple of exciting games, a couple of duds. Best to follow.

Jeff,
I hope this news won't upset you too much as I know your Dolphin fan but the Jets have advanced to the AFC Championship game tomorrow via Cinncinati and San Diego.

The Jets are now boarding for Indy and Peyton Manning!

Now that is funny.  HA HA  With the spanking whack whack you got from the Jets. You must have got spanked so hard that you think you are a winner?  You are a Winner Crowing?  What have you won?  Nothing.  No Super Bowls that is for sure.  No Ring on your  ringless fingers.
Where is the trophy?  Not in your hands. Not in your Stadium. You are close to Nirvana with nothing to show for it. But that is because San Diego likes to settle instead of ever being able to go all the way with it.  You may be close to Nirvana, But the Raiders HAD Nirvana 3 times.

Never take pity on the Raiders.  We are much stronger than a Charger could ever be.
In fact, you had to sell the Raiders games as a package deal because there were more Raider fans showing up in San Diego at Raider/Chargers games than Chargers fans.

You still have to play catch up with the Raiders with the Hall of Fame.
You have six players and one coach and we have eleven, one coach and the owner Al Davis.

Let me know when your owner shows up in the Hall of Fame and I don't mean just for a visit.

You enjoy your nothing to show for it Chargers.

I'll always take my Raiders with the championships, with the deep rich history we have, with all the great players we had and still have, talking about you future hall-of-famer Shane Lechler, and not just a coliseum of fans but a Raider Nation.

And I don't want you to feel I have any animosity, I like the competition.  You are welcome to visit the Raider Nation anytime.

Yes Angela, sports does inflame the emotions. Seems I struck a tender spot there with RiverCat. There is a great and heated rivalry between our teams. She can rest on their laurels, which are great ones. All we poor Charger fans can do is remind the fans that in the last 5 years, in head to head matches, the Raiders are OFER against the Chargers. lol We hope to extend that string next year. smile Ah yes, the refrain of the losers, "Wait 'till next year".

Should be a great pair of games today. I'm warming up the barbie right now to prepare some steaming Brats and slaw so the wifey can cheer on her Vikings in style. (and tell me the Packers aren't steaming over Brett's "retirement" big_smile )

Super Bowl Pooper Bowl, the NFL didn't begin with Super Bowl I. The Browns have won their share of championships. It doesn't matter what you name it as long as you end up on top.

Actually, The ref stole a touchdown from us in the first game of the year so I don't look at that as a loss to the Chargers.   So I don't feel bad about how the Raiders played the first game of this year against the Chargers.  And you are right about a great rivalry between our teams.  I love it.  Here, I'll raise the Super Bowl trophy and you can try to get it smile
