Re: The NFL - National Football League

DENVER @ OAKLAND-I Spared Cat the too easy predilection (of Oakland to losing) prediction, doesn't count!

ST. LOUIS @ BUFFALO-Rams are better
ATLANTA @ CAROLINA- Fearful Formidable Falconidae
DALLAS @ CINCINNATI -Cowboys are only addled up
KANSAS CITY @ CLEVELAND-Chiefs can do it twice
TENNESSEE @ INDIANAPOLIS-Don't think the Titans can really beat any halfway good team..but,... picked for upset
NEW YORK JETS @ JAX-Must win vs. What is win?
CHICAGO @ MINNESOTA-T'is the season for rising rivals
SAN DIEGO @ PITTSBURGH-Retreat from tough, gritty, ol' steely eyes
PHILADELPHIA@ TAMPA BAY-Put your Bucks down on them
BALTIMORE @ WASHINGTON-Baltimore wants it just a tad mo'?!  Think so...
MIAMI @ SAN FRANCISCO-49ers, Disgrace to lose, but it could happen, just very doubtful
NEW ORLEANS @ NEW YORK GIANTS-Showdown of slow offs, he who scores more INT's...loses...maybe
ARIZONA@ SEATTLE -Sea birds fight.  Literally.
DETROIT @ GREEN BAY-Lions are burdened beasts

HOUSTON @ NEW ENGLAND-Second guessing BelichickIS risky..but if you guess right the first time...Houston may finally BE a problem instead of having one...

Who guessed Bolts would win the first ever at Steelers? No one!
RG3 better watch the business and learn to slide early. That might have been a career ending injury.

Thank you Rocket, that was so kind of you
Go ahead and make your Raider pick, just add some Lloyd's Bar-B-Q sauce on it, makes it easier to swallow and might as well have some Raider tailgate in there.

More than the game, I knew it was bad when I heard the news that Peyton Manning was going to be in our division.  That was the only time I was on the Tebow band wagon.  Nobody wanted Tebow to stay in Denver more than me sad

Make sure to get your Playoff tickets, Rocket.  Let me know where you are sitting, cause I will be watching on T.V.  smile

You got some interesting picks there, Tres. So, you don't believe in the continuing miracle of RG3? I do! big_smile

We're assuming that RG3 will be fit to play, despite last week's scare. Big props to Cousins for coming in and getting the job done under great pressure.

CIN @ PHI - The Eagles might steal another one but I'm not picking them
NYG @ ATL - Hoping the Falcons can do us a big favor!
DEN @ BAL - Tough call, Ravens need this one more
GB @ CHI - Bears collapse to continue
WAS @ CLE - RG3 plays, Skins roll on!
IND @ HOU - Texans need to recover from their Foxboro embarrassment
JAC @ MIA - Fins too good for Jags at home
TB @ NO - Saints should edge this at home
MIN @ STL - Very tricky, home team edge despite AD looking headed for MVP.
DET @ ARI - A lock, surely?
SEA @ BUF - Another lock, surely?
CAR @ SD - Can Bolts shock the world and win two in a row?
PIT @ DAL - Head says Cowgirls, heart wants them to lose
KC @ OAK - Yes, I'm picking the Raiders!
SF @ NE - Foxboro in December = only one winner
NYJ @ TEN - Another MNF game nobody's waiting for

Cincinnati at Philadelphia-Philly points 4 for W Historically 2 low

New York Fooeyball GIants at Atlanta-Big win for either, Giant for Giants
Minnesota at St. Louis-tough game, Vikings discover themselves this time
Jacksonville at Miami-Miami simply must win
Green Bay at Chicago-Green Bay sees green lights and soldiers on
Washington at Cleveland-Browns, unlike Redskins, like political D.C., unable 2 get serious
Denver at Baltimore-likely an atypical (style) Denver win
Indianapolis at Houston-but is the "x" and the "n" falling from their name?
Tampa Bay at New Orleans-Avast!...can't stop the pass right now
Detroit at Arizona-surpise is in the Cards?
Carolina at San Diego-Cam can cam
Seattle at Buffalo-even if hell comes in weather form
Pittsburgh at Dallas-who will fall towards a wild card exit? Dallas!
Kansas City at Oakland-finally, a week 15 game that means something!
San Francisco at New England-finally, a week 15 game that means something!

NY Jets at Tennessee-hijack one of them big jet planes (song lyrics only!)

I'll eat crow, I was dead wrong. That was a magnificent effort by Kirk and the entire team. I'm starting to believe they can make the playoffs, that final game with Dallas is looking large.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

That was the last time I'm picking the Bolts. Ever.

Congrats to Rocket for being this week's pickmaster. I'll admit that I scoffed when I saw you pick the Cardinals and Bolts. sad Pff, just shows what I know.

The Skins take the division if we win out. Philly should not be a problem next, so it'll all come down to the final game against the sort of rejuvenated Cowgirls to decide the division winner. NFC East once again proves to be the toughest.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Can't blame you for being done with San Diego, George.  The big surprise for me was the Giants.  Atlanta shut them d-o-w-n.  I know the Falcons are very good this year, but I just thought NY had a road win in them at Atlanta.  Weekly it becomes dubious they shall repeat a Super Bowl victory.

I presume you meant scoffing at me picking Carolina Panthers over the Chargers. Ironically I may actually favor them (SD) this weekend.

Washington is in charge of their natural destiny.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

funny to me, it is quite the mess with the Jets now. Tebow is literally caught in the middle, Ryan meanwhile says he went with his "gut" feeling on starting McElroy the next 2 weeks. What he really meant to say is "I don't want to be disemboweled" by starting Tebow. Think about it, what if Tebow comes in and does a good job the last 2 weeks. How is he going to answer to the NYJ fans? He would look like an idiot for not trying it sooner. Oh no, he cannot have that and thus the choice to start Greg and the rumor to trade Tim. Yeah, Greg is from Alabama and I would like to see him do well, but he's still a backup and has very little experience.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

Found time to work on Picks so here's what I got:
Falcons
Jets (yeah they suck, but SD has to travel across country, it's the early game and oh, by the way, Chargers suck too)
Texans
Bucks
Saints (just because)
Skins
Colts
Patriots
Steelers
Dolphins
Panthers
Packers
Broncos
Giants (pickem game)
Bears
Sea Chickens (only cause they're home and need this game worse than the 49'ers do)

Re: The NFL - National Football League

There look to be at least six absolute locks this week, as well as a few games that should almost be locks too, so most of us (except Rocket, natch) are probably only going to differ on a few games.

One of the locks will almost certainly bust - but which one?

ATL @ DET - Falcons to roll on, almost, kind of, another semi-lock

NO @ DAL - I don't (want to) believe in the Cowgirl resurrection
TEN @ GB - Lock # 1
IND @ KC - Lock # 2
BUF @ MIA - Pretty close to another lock, a semi-lock
SD @ NYJ - A who cares game between two awful teams. I have come to hate them both. Jets on a toss up.
WSH @ PHI - According to all the experts, this is another strong semi-lock. I expect the Redskin messiah to return and do the business. cool
CIN @ PIT - Ben's lost 'it' since he came back, I'll punt on the Bengals
STL @ TB - Really hard to pick, nothing to play for, Rams by a whisker
OAK @ CAR - Lock # 3
NE @ JAC - Lock # 4
MIN @ HOU - Lock # 5 (despite more ridiculous All Day yardage)
CLE @ DEN - Lock # 6
CHI @ ARI - Normally, this should be a lock too, but with these Bears?
NYG @ BAL - Another real hard one. The Ravens need this badly, so do the Giants. I badly want and need the sad Ravens of recent weeks to turn the corner and recapture the flame. Let Ray Rice run!
SF @ SEA - I'm staying with the Hawk's and Wilson's very impressive home form. Could easily go the other way too.
