WOW. What a game (Packers at Cardinals). Packers spotted Cards 17 points and took it into OT, but came up short. The highest scoring game in playoff history. Final 51-45. 13 TDs. Cards at Saints next week could be another shootout.

Fuzzy-wuzzy,
As far as the Jets...like father, like son...some of the things coming out of Ryan's mouth, so reminds me of his dad when he coached the Eagles!!  My son's college roommate is a Mets/Jets fan...you for the Mets too?

Sorry Sandy, love ya', but I thought it was so sweet to to see the Ravens win...I like Flacco and he's a Jersey boy...imagine that, an upstanding Italian from New Jersey, wonder if I'll ever bump into him at the Jersey Shore...  roll

Regardless of who won that game I couldn't see the winner advancing with those swiss cheese defenses they both fielded yesterday. I thought this was the Saints year finally, but after the way they finished it's anybodies guess. A good friend, who's a NY Giants fan, throws the best Super Bowl party every year, but has pledged "NO PARTY" if the Cowboys are in it, GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Let the haters hate, is what I always say. There's nothing better than maybe, just maybe, hopefully, giving all the Cowboy haters a reason to be hating. But Favre and Peterson are dangerous, and so are the Cardinals and Saints. But for the first time in 13 years, hope exists after the first playoff game! big_smile

Re: The NFL - National Football League

As a Seattle Seahawks fan, I'm not happy this morning.

The Seahawks let Mike Holmgren get away in favor of Jim Mora, and now Mora's out.

Now the Seahawks have hired Pete Carroll from USC as their new head coach. While he's had success at the collegiate level, Carroll's pro career has been less than stellar.

He was one-and-done as the NY Jets coach with a record of 6-10. At New England he inherited a Super Bowl team and went 10-6, followed by 9-7 and then 8-8 when he was fired.

With the likes of Bill Cowher (who would have been my first choice), Tony Dungy and Jon "Chucky" Gruden all available - and all Super Bowl coaches - I'm less than pleased about this hire.

Well, at least coming from USC we'll have a coach with experience dealing with highly paid players.

Stu,

You aren't implying that USC has some questionable "college" players on their squad, are you? yikes Gee, and here I thought that kind of thing went on only in Miami. wink

Stu,
I'm a Jet fan for a looong time and I liked Pete Carrol and was looking forward to a second year with him. I figured heres a young guy who will install a program and we could build from the 6-10 first year. Then in what had to be the worst move in NFL history Leon Hess ditches Carrol for..........Rich Kotite.....WTF!!! I think we were 3-29 in those 2 years from hell. Ughf. OMG. It was the worst time to be a Jet fan back then.

I'd give Pete a shot,

Great game indeed.  Nowhere as impressive as the Buffalo comeback against Houston in the early '90's, but from 28 points (4 TD's w/ PAT) behind is nothing to be sneered at.  Pretty much all of the games should be a shootout next week.  The only exception may be the game here...I'm an unpopular guy in San Diego right now because the whole place has the Chargers winning the Super Bowl 3 games ago and I don't think they'll get past the visiting New York Jets.  Do NOT count wild card teams out.  The Ravens could surprise also.  Dallas keeps getting better and better. Never count a team with Brett Favre at the QB helm out ever...  And perhaps only the subconscious minds of Peyton Manning & Drew Brees looking forward to golfing or fishing, or some other off season hobbies the likes can stop the showdown between them.

Re: The NFL - National Football League

I am devastated. I really wanted the Packers to win this game.

BUT - people (before the season) were saying the new 3-4 defense was going to take at least two years to fully develop, and that they couldn't even sniff the playoffs this year. So in that sense - they overachieved. But I still expected more because I am a fan.
