What's the story on these ads? I don't get to see them on ESPN. When I used to have to watch games on a web stream, I particularly enjoyed the Dodge Ram ads, where this deep, western, cowboy voice says the "Ram" in a way that's supposed to really make you want one. Works on me.

Yeah that would be Sam Elliot's voice-over. instantly recognizable as Ram Tough. For Aaron & Packers, take your pick:

Back to Sam: His voice works are like foreplay or sumpn, *Ram Tough* I think he might've had a fling with Whoopi Goldberg, years ago, while they were making some cop movie together. I don't remember zackley

Too funny, know what you mean about the voice, didn't know about Whoopi.
Well folks, staying with the foreplay theme, it's time for the minor climax, which will lead on to the major, mega, Super-climax!
Weather should not play a major role, no blizzards expected in Foxboro, no torrential rain over Candlestick. What I would like to see, but what I think I will see, are two different things.
I'd love to see the brothers face off - who wouldn't? I'd love to see the Ravens dump the Pats, but all stats, together with common sense, suggest that Brady will easily outscore Flacco. The Ravens winning would be an upset, but hey, who's to say we can't have yet another upset? I'm going with my head instead of my heart on this one.
I think that the key to the other game is simply if the Niners defense can prevent Eli from doing what he's been doing for weeks now, and stop him having so much time in which to do his thing. I think the Giants are on a bit of a roll, and I think the Niners may have used up their share of luck in the Saints game. Just my opinion. I have no strong preference here and would like to see the Ravens play either of these teams, but I think that the GIants will just edge a close game.
Giants @ Niners
Ravens @ Pats
Well Hammer here's some facts and a weather update from Ninerland. NY is a 9-7 team while the Niners are 13-3, not to mention 7-1 @ home. If there's a lucky team here it would be the G-men, after the way they slumped it was a miracle they made the playoffs. Can't blame you for getting caught up in the hype, the NY media spin doctors can make anybody look good. Perhaps you haven't heard that a gastro-intestinal flu is running through the NY ranks, no pun intended, but the Niners "D" may be literally knocking the crap out of some of the Giants on Sunday. Hope the cameras don't catch that! On to the weather report, it finally started raining here yesterday after 34 days of blue skies. A gully washer is coming through tonight followed by showers Sat. and a steady rain predicated for Sun. The computer model for this front changes about every 12 hrs., but the weather will be a far cry from the game with the Saints. Can't argue with your AFC pick, the Pats just score too many points, something the Ravens aren't too efficient at, not that I wouldn't love to see a Super HarBowl.
Who's Got It Better Than Us????

I pick the Niners and Pats. Local rag head sports writher was all over the lack of penalty calling in the games last week. It set a record for least penalties for all the games. Seems that the fix was in, though it didn't work for the Pack, even though they probably were gifted two td's by the officials. Now we have a new crew... All Star refs in the finals. Watch the Vegas over under line for a hint...

I guess you didn't know that Tebow not only threw that pass, but he caught it and ran it in.
What, you don't think Timmy's plugged in upstairs? I'm shocked, Cat.
I read elsewhere that the first thing that your new man did was to fire someone who wasn't expecting it. Good start.
You wouldn't believe how many people do, to answer your question. I was surprised, 43%.
We probably have the most uncertain division for next year. Full of questions.
I didn't like what our new GM did, though I understand it.
We will see who he hires, but I know someone Mr. Corporate didn't fire and that was our Defensive Coordinator. He should have been the first one to go with some of our secondary. I will wait to see what he does, since he made some bold statements. I already don't like some of the losers he's interviewing, so he better step up his game to show he's a better GM than he was at linebacker. It wouldn't hurt to interview some proven veteran Head Coaches. There is no rush to get someone unless you don't want someone else to grab him up. So time can be his friend to find the best person for the job.

I read a very interesting online article by Mike Silver of SI on his take about the latest moves in the Raider Nation. His story was based upon details regarding how Al treated his son. One case in point was Mark walking into the war room on draft day and Al asking his son, well what do you think we need? when Mark took a moment to respond maybe a wide receiver, Al's response was, Get the F#%@ outta here. Silver's theory is that Mark Davis wants to purge the staff of those who watched the old man beat him down like a redheaded step child. No pun on the Dumb & Dumber red hair cut, YIKES! Is that best look money can buy??? I have no idea where the Raiders are headed at this point and I doubt that Mark Davis and his new employee Reggie McKenzie have a clue either. I guess more shall be revealed.

P.S. It must be stated though that Mike Silver had a volatile relationship with Mr. Davis, so you can take his report with that in mind.

Mike Silver I've always found it very ironic that his last name is Silver. Him and Jason Whitlock are more like the TMZ of sports reporting.
It was a very tough year and it's a whole new picture now. Mark Davis was more in charge of the stadium issues, so you probably know what he said about that. I do like your idea of Jack London Square, that would have been a wonderful addition. I don't know what Oakland is going to do financially in these tough times.
They have some great pieces on offense to build around on. So that is a good start. You just don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. So fix what is broken, and build on the good things that they have. For some reason the Raiders have a lot of foot injuries, and they looked into the shoes, but they can't figure why that is happening. And our Playmaker has to have his feet. He needs "Happy Feet". There is just a lot of uncertainty, but it may look like Mark Davis may keep the team instead of selling. He does seem like a nice guy with a sense of humor. For the defense to make any improvement, they have to make sure that takes priority in finding the right coordinator because both scheme and secondary players are going to have to be replaced. And money is an issue in that regard. Michael Huff may have to be switched to cornerback if they can't find anyone else. I am wishing them the best with their daunting venture.
Now J Dawg, did you hear what they are going to do for Security at the 49er game this Weekend?

No, the police chief went public with his plan to put undercover cops throughout the stadium dressed as NY fans. There were 23 arrests and 54 people kicked out of the stadium during the Saints game. Jed York, the teams owner took out a full page ad in the Chronicle asking the fans to show some respect for others as well as to wear red & be loud. We'll see how many assaulting an officer charges are racked up on Mon. NY fans travel more than N.O. fans, should be interesting.

Here are the ESPN picks, they go 9-1 Pats and 6-4 Giants.
Stop press! Hold everything. I'm a Niner man!
Vernon Davis capped one of the most remarkable quarters of NFL playoff football Saturday with the winning touchdown and a stream of tears. His 14-yard TD catch gave the 49ers a dramatic 36-32 victory over the Saints and his tears made him the most popular NFL player among female fans.
Soccer fans should also have a soft spot for the 49ers’ tight end; he likes our sport. Prior to the Niners 2010 game in London, Davis revealed his interest in the beautiful game and West Ham United. Here’s what he told the Metro:
Aside from the tennis, are you into any other British sports?
I’m into soccer.
Who’s your team?
West Ham United.
Really? How come?
I don’t know, I was just browsing the net and checking out all the teams and flipping through the tube watching some of the games and I thought: “I like the colour, I like the team, they’re pretty good”. So it’s West Ham baby, I just love them, they’re awesome.

Atta boy G Dawg, I knew we'd win you over. I'm watchin' the NFL Network's replay of the SF/NY game from 11/13 and gettin' fired up for tomorrow. There's an electrically charged vibe running through the Bay Area today. It's been a long drought for Niner fans to get to a game of this magnitude. Hopin' they keep it rollin'.

It's total BS Hammer, the Giants were not even in town when this rumour was reported by a caller here in Sac on the local sports station....basically this so called "Dr" has had a history of finding players, many young and naive....the Doc would buy them drinks at a hotel, maybe get them some women to come up to a hotel room and then slip them "a micky".....the player wakes up in a drug induced stupor only to find the Doc has taken pictures of the player in some very unflattering "positions", usually with the Doc himself.....the player is black mailed for money, and all to happy to pay up so the pics dont get to the press....The FBI supposedly contacted an NBA draft pick and warned him of this so called "Dr. Boudreau" many years ago when the kid was staying in a hotel waiting for the draft to pick him....the player is now retired, and told the story about 10 years ago on a nationally syndicated sports radio show....after the show, a former major league baseball player called and said he too had heard of the "Doc" through many other players in different sports....so you get the idea of the kind of dirtbag this man is....I'm sure people have been looking for this man for years, and to my knowledge has not been caught

True Shred, the Giants didn't get here till late yesterday afternoon. They actually got here later than planned as their flight was delayed. This might be a minor factor in the Niners favor flying in less than 24 hrs. before kickoff with a 3 hour time difference.
Go Niners!!!

Weather for the SF/NY game as of 9am PST calls for scattered showers as the brunt of this storm has stalled out a bit and the nasty stuff won't arrive till later tonight.
Go Niners!!!
