Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

My mouth fell open when they panned on Tallan....but I was so proud to hear him say, "I'm just gonna' keep playing my guitar..." (may not be exact quote but close) and I say more fuel for Tallan to move forward and show the world what he's got.  Look at Jennifer Hudson...American Idol dismissed her....and she is a huge star now.  So I say Tallan Latz, you know you have talent, we know you have talent, and America DOES KNOW you have talent...

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

It's probably all for the best.

These "fifteen minutes of fame" TV shows are not the way to go for somebody who is serious about their music. Tallan's age, rather than his ability, was probably what got him to Vegas. Better to grow into a music career than grow out of one.
I know the kid will be hurting, but if he is truly inspired by Joe, then he will understand that hard work is the way to do it.
He's certainly got talent, and his will be a name to keep an eye out for in the future.

Stick at it Tallan! May the Blues Gods smile on you.

Talk about anticlimactic! How can they fly people out to Vegas only to dismiss them? When I saw Tallan a couple of weeks ago, he told me that he made it through the first show, but that he didn't make it through Vegas. Hard to believe after the initial reaction of the judges and the crowd when he was in Houston, that they let him go with others without a performance. Oh well, the T-Man did get some great exposure from the show.

And you know what? I for one, am very proud of him!! smile Wish you all knew him as I do.....
he's a great young man! wink

Absolutely dispicable! The show's producers have ZERO class. To fly the little guy out to Vegas only to crush him? I was really looking forward to seeing the little guy tear it up!

I'm done watching that show! I'm not going to call for a boycott of the show and it's advertisers but I'm done with them.

All I can say is that we have not heard the last from T-Man!

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Hey Everyone,

Carl yesterday told me it would be "jaw dropping", but I honestly thought he meant Tallan performed and did a fantastic job. However, I knew he didn't make it through Vegas. Well, I can see now what Carl meant about it being "jaw dropping", because that's exactly what happened to me when I saw and heard what they did!

Today, Tallan is appearing on WKLH radio in Milwaukee as he has before. The DJ's have been reading E-mails this morning that they received concerning what happened to Tallan and it is exactly what you and I are saying. How could they do this? sad

I must say though, when I saw Tallan two weeks ago, he was still the same upbeat young man that we've all gotten to know and love. He thrilled the crowd that gathered at the bandshell in Oconomowoc and I think this picture of him speaks volumes:

Yes, the T-Man is still flying high! wink

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Just listened to the show. I'm even madder since Carl said that AGT invited T-Man to be on the show!!!!! Invite the kid, then dump him!!! Classless!!! Thank goodness he has risen above it all and has kept his sense of self-worth. Like they said on the radio show..this is the stuff of a bluesman's life. Maybe we'll get a new song out of this!     Cathy

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

I didn't watch the whole show, just the end where they were sending his group of contestants off and he said he was just gonna keep playing his guitar (he handled that moment well).  My question is, is it possible he DID have a chance to perform there, and it just wasn't chosen to be aired?  Because I'm sure they don't have time to air every performance, right?  Because sending him to Vegas and then not giving him another chance to perform just makes no sense, unless there's more to the story we're not hearing. hmm

Regardless, the boy is only 9... he has lots of time to make his mark... and the mark he's made so far, both on that show and elsewhere, ain't too shabby! wink

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Hey Vikki,

No, it's just as it was presented on TV, Tallan didn't get a chance to show his skill in Vegas. That in itself, is totally bizarre considering the reaction of the judges and the crowd during his first performance.

I must tell you though, that during the radio show this morning, both Carl and Tallan showed their class. Tallan performed two numbers on acoustic guitar; one was "Sweet Home Chicago" and the other was "4 U" which he wrote for his mom Doris. As I've witnessed several times, the same thing happened on the radio as it does to a crowd. After Tallan played that song "4 U", there wasn't a dry eye in the studio.

Tallan should be an inspiration to us all. Here's "4 U" from earlier this year when I saw Tallan perform:

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

When the show first started they had short shots of different acts and Tallan was scanned with this group "must continue" or something like that.....to have him sent home with so many others was plain wrong, I hope that the network at least put them up for the night and gave them a nice meal....you fly all these people here just to crush their dreams in an airport hanger is awfull....hang in there Tallan, you will be shown on TV in a few short years from now, and them so called "judges" will look foolish for missing out on an opportunity to help send you to stardom

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Gutted that he never got a chance in Vegas. In one respect I would love to have seen him win it but on the other hand is there not a certain stigma attached to winning these shows that the show 'discovered' them whereas Tallan has been forging a name for himself beforehand. I am sure that he will make it and doing it the way he is now will gain him more respect.

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

George is coming in 2 days, the house is a wreck..but I can't put this to rest!! The AGT forum is buzzing with people who feel like we do. There is talk that the group sent home may actually be called back after the group is thinned. I think T and Ciarra, the 8y/o singer from Hawaii, who sang "At Last", and was also cut, should get together and make a song about it!!   Now...where is my broom...to clean not ride.....       Cathy

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Thanks, Roy.  Like I said, I only caught the end of the show, so I naturally assumed I'd missed his act, and figured I'd wait for the YouTube link.  Then when I read that the people who watched it didn't see his act either, I assumed it just wasn't chosen to air for whatever reason.  But to hear he didn't even get to perform at all, that's just crazy.  Especially after the judges' and audience's reactions last time, like you said.  Unless something happened behind the scenes that nobody is aware of, maybe not even Tallan and his family... you just never know... and if so, it could just as easily be some positive development as a negative one... like maybe the judges know of somebody who has plans for Tallan and that person doesn't want AGT in the picture, hmmm? wink  Whatever the case is, I think it's probably all for the best, like some others have said.  All the same, I hope they get loads of inquiries from the public asking what happened to him and why we didn't get a chance to see him perform again, because that just ain't right. hmm

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

I've only just caught up on what happened and I just want to say that Tallan will be a big star one day with or without AGT.

Put it down to experience T-Man. The commercial music industry can be a fickle beast. Stick to what you're doing, be true to yourself, work hard, play hard and we'll be seeing you at the Royal Albert Hall one day too.

Very good Trispy and if that day comes where Tallan plays Royal Albert Hall, I will be in the front row again. Hey, maybe Tallan can have Joe up as a guest just like Joe did with Eric Clapton! wink

Michael, you have a mission again once Tallan headlines at RAH! big_smile

Now that would be something. Mind you, we'll all (well some of us) be in our dotage by then. But we'll be saying
"I remember when ........"  lol

You don't need it, but good luck, Tallan. We know that you'll make it to the big time in the not too distant future and at least everyone in the US now knows who you are, so it should open many more doors for you. Make sure you sign up to Joe's record label. He'll look after you. wink

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Like I posted on Facebook, how could the judges be so enthusiastic about Tallan at the tryouts and then send him packing without an explanation? Methinks the show's producers laid down the law to the judges that no 9 year old kid was gonna win this. The fix is in. It's a shame these competitions are all about payola. Go ask Joe about the Grammys or BMA's... then again probably best not to.

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

An E-mail sent by Carl Latz to some of Tallan's supporters; just recevied this tonight around 5:30 PM. Thought I'd post it here too, to thank the people that have supported Tallan from Joe's forum:

"Tallan and I would like to Thank everyone for all of the support and love that you've sent to Tallan and our family.  AGT is just that a show and it was their decision to let Tallan go.  Tallan and I were shocked as I'm sure many of you were when you seen last nights show.

This is Tallan's attitude towards what happened, on the plane ride home after being eliminated, Tallan asked me what I was thinking about.  I said to him "I'm wondering what happened to have them send you home like this?"  He stop playing his DS and looked up at me and said, "Dad, don't fret it, its over and now its time to move on."  That's typical Tallan, get knocked down, get back up and brush off the dust and start looking at the next thing.

So I guess what I'm saying to all of you is that Tallan was not really phased by this outcome, sure he was disappointed but like he said in his parting statement, "I'm going to keep playing my guitar, and following my heart."  His journey is far from over and this was only a speed bump in the big picture.

So again THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts and we appreciate your support.  Please spread the word about Tallan and he'll work at making you all proud.

Hope to meet everyone out on the road someday.

Have a GREAT one and take care.
Peace!
Tallan and Carl"

I think this speaks volumes of what kind of young man Tallan is. smile

Re: America's Got Talent....Tallan "T-Man" Latz

Why in the world would you want it handed to you on a silver platter? Now he'll get to hone his skills to a razor's edge the way he should. Good for him.  Just ask Joe. big_smile
