Topic: What ever happened to??

Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Here is a guy with all the talent in the world and we haven't heard any original music from him since??

I just checked his website and the news section is completely blank.

He had a release in 2004, "The Place You're In" where he took over most of the vocals. 

Also, he released "Ten Days Out" in 2007 which is a great collaboration with some of the greats of blues world.  This album has received a lot of praise on this website.

He's put out music, but his website is just very out of date.

He will be in Wisconsin at the Jefferson County Fair on Saturday July 11th. Anyone from the forum besides me going?

04's album was the first since 99. The latest work was a great tribute to blues players that for the most part didn't make a dime off of their own material; so I respect Kenny for that.

All that said; one album of original material in 10 years.....

I miss the guy; he is a rare talent

Whatever happened to kenny Wayne Shepherd?

Well, this past Saturday he played the Jefferson County Fair in Wisconsin. Kicked some serious **** and took names. Says he has 2 albums coming out over the next 6 months , a live one followed by a new studio one.

He didn't die just off starting a family.

Wow. that's great news!  Can't wait for that. I hope Noah Hunt is a big part of both albums, especially the live one.

KWS knows theres more money in touring than there is putting out albums. The necessary evil is there has to be an album to support the tour you're on. One ever four or five years for original music is good... it keeps the quality high. Although I hope Noah sings all the songs on the new album cool I don't think Kenny's last album "took" too well with Kenny doing 98% of the singing. Looks like Noah Hunt IS the voice of Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Yeah, Kenny's supposed to be working on a new live cd and studio cd.  And I'm sure it'll be awesome.
