Topic: Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood in Saint Paul MN Thursday June 18 2009

Wow!  Just wow!  This was definitely one of my favorite concerts of all time.  Clapton and Winwood were born to perform together.  They were both on, and the sound at the Xcel Center was terrific, too.  It sounds impossible, but I thought it sounded better than even the Live at MSG cd.  Needless to say, if you get a chance to see them together, I recommend you do so.

They played for about 2 hours and 10 minutes with a 2 song encore.  21 songs in all.  Particular highlights for me were HTCT, Presence of the Lord, Pearly Queen, Forever Man, Can't Find My Way Home, Split Decision, Voodoo Chile!!!!!!, Cocaine, and Dear Mr. Fantasy.  From my foggy memory this approximates the setlist:

Had to cry today
Low down dirty shame
After midnight?
Presence of the lord
Unsure?
Unsure?
Well All Right?
Unsure?
Pearly Queen
Unsure?
No Face, No Name, No Number
Forever man
Georgia
Unsure (acoustic)
Unsure (acoustic)
Layla (acoustic)
Can't find my way home?
Split Decision
Voodoo chile

   Encores:
Cocaine
Dear mr fantasy

Wow, is right! What luck! I don't think I'll get a chance to see them, so reading the reviews is great! I updated your question marks from what I read the setlist to be from last night's Omaha show, which seems to be almost exactly the same...

Have fun JBSRV

This is a great pairing. I hope to see a studio collaboration from them at some point, they work so well together.

I'm going to see that show tonight.
Is there an opener?

Also....who is in the band?  I know Willie Weeks was on bass on the DVD...I hope willie is playing with them tonight.

I was wondering about an opener too. I hope not.

There was no opener in Saint Paul so I assume not.
