My gut reaction to this game is, bollocks.  tongue

My head tells me that Inter 'deserved' the win despite having only one third of the possession, because they had Milito, who scored two excellent, classic striker's goals, while Bayern remained impotent in front of goal. But the way Inter play football is not the way I want any team of mine to play! Most appalling of all is that they played 90 minutes without a single Italian in the side.  roll

Yes, Bayern played well enough to win, but couldn't get sure shots. Brilliant goals though.

Dr. Donato Vallani of Argentina says sex is ok for World Cup players during the tournament. He did caution that 2AM champagne and Havana cigars on game day were not good though.  Rumor has it that U.S Coach Bob Bailey quickly signed Tiger Woods as a team consultant.  lol

Well, I will jump start this beauty again. Whirrr, cough, put put put.

What is this about all the captains of national teams going down with late injuries? There was a big story yesterday blaming all on EPL and the wear and tear of the season's rough play standards being the culprit. It sure opens up the odds board with so many great players watching from the sidelines. IMO hardest hit is Ivory Coast, although rumors of miraculous surgery have Drogba returning with a broken arm able to play.

USA may have a great new emerging striker to surprise. Edson Buddle seems to be peaking on form for the team and my prediction is a breakout tournament for him. Great speed and a very accurate shot. We'll need lots of goals to offset our not so hot defense.

edit: on a side note on how the mighty have fallen, Ronaldinho was signing balls for a local girl's youth squad here in San Diego last weekend..... Scary when a talent like that doesn't make his national team. How deep is Brasil?

Teams that I'd like to see 'do well' are Holland (duh), England, USA, Spain and Argentina. I've got nothing with the current Brazilian side. Of these, I would expect to see Holland, Spain and Argentina go furthest, though I don't honestly believe that Holland can win it. So it's Spain or Messi for me.  big_smile
