Re: Another Young Blues Artist

The kid is damn good! Dammit! he's 11 years old... the guitar is bigger than him.

I wish I could have played like that when I was 11. I've been playing for 14-15 years and he would kick my butt any day of the week.

I can't even play that on guitar hero sad

i disagree. they are just copies... they have nothing to offer.

Re: Another Young Blues Artist

I would just point out that our dear Joe B started out playing classical guitar (someone else's music) and then, when he discovered the blues, who's songs did he copy......SRV and others. Then like any other good musician he went on to develop his own style.
This young lad is starting out just the same way as Joe and as such I really do fail to see any validity in your pointless criticisms Tripod. Thankfully the vast majority of this forum have a better handle on reality cool

i hope this kid finds his own style instead of being as pathetic as John Mayer and Kenny Wayne ...

wow. this is quite an attitude...
That's like saying "I don't like artists who imitate Albert King." Stevie was an Albert King copy, his own brother said that, Stevie admitted it. That's all "the precious" SRV ever wanted to sound like.
John Mayer and Kenny Wayne are "pathetic?" They do sell-out large concert venues, so they must not sound pathetic to the masses.

yeah DEEZER! KWS and JM are cool as hell. But I guess they're not for everybody. No music is.

ok...

Re: Another Young Blues Artist

Anyway, back to the original topic. My thoughts are yes, this kid is very good for 11 years. But, with all really young guitar players, I am going to be very interested where he goes once he hits about 20 or so. Lord knows he's got a great starting point.
