Hi David. Are you a local there now? Was there end April to see ELO but it was postponed and I couldn't make the new one. It was an expensive 3 days.

Re: Dublin Vicar Street June 29th

Such a great time at both nights in Dublin. Love these standing club shows. We may have to queue for a while beforehand, but being up front is so worth it. This music is meant for these type of venues. Loud, rockin, hot exactly the way it should be. Joe looks like he is having such a great time playing this material. Love the fierceness in his playing with these songs. The vocals were a bit lost in the mix the first night, but they sounded better the second night. I am so enjoying these songs. Love the slow blues with "Double Crossing Time" and "Tea for One/Can't Quit You Baby" and then the Cream song "SWLABR" and Zeppelin's "How Many More Times" is full force rock. And then there is that solo in "Let Me Love You Baby" that is just incredible. Also really love the solo instrumental piece "Black Winter" that Joe plays on the Firebird. I could go on and on. This might be my favorite of Joe's tribute shows.

Hi Kenny, yes we have been living in Ireland for about a year now, about 3 1/2 hours north of Dublin. Love ELO! Saw them in the 70's.

Hi Sam, Thanks!

Re: Dublin Vicar Street June 29th

Awesome performance at Preston last night, Joe on fire as was the band, encore with sloe gin to end preceedings. What can I say. Thanks Joe. Almost the perfect night but for some axxhole standing right behind me to my left letting out the loudest wolfwhisle directly into my ear about 40 minutes from the end. From that point my left ear sounds like listening through a torn piece of paper and  feels as if it is filled with water. I literally hate these people! Anyway, but for being hot ( a girl near to us fainted) about 15 feet from the stage the whole show was awesome. A special well done goes to Joanne Shaw Taylor who was brilliant and all smiles throughout her show. Truly a star in the making!!! big_smile
