Topic: Joe! Bangor! Aug. 12, 2015!

Next month!

And I have a few questions...

I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn by the airport, and looking at Google Earth it looks like there is limited parking near the Pavilion, I'm thinking that I should leave my car at the motel and take a taxi to the venue.  Any thoughts?

Good spots to eat near the venue or fill up before getting there?

Next, I asked this question in another thread, but just in case here it is again...any thoughts on bringing my JB Les Paul to the M&G?  I really want to but no idea what to do with it during the show!  I'm sure it would be frowned upon bringing it to my seat. 

Finally, who all is going?



I get to drive to my next Joe concert!!  smile

Whenever I took my guitar to get it signed i had enough time to take it back to the car. The meet and greets are usually pretty early.. 5 30 I believe. So you should have enough time to take it back to the car or even hotel if it's right down the street smile

Thanks Erin!  If I can make that work, it might be a plan.  Timing.  Better go back to Google and get an estimated drive time to the venue, that might help.

I just looked to see how the show was selling. Looks like Joe won't be returning to Bangor anytime soon.

Well, Bangor is known as the bath salt capital of Maine.  That might explain it.

Considering how far away from a lot of civilization this place is I don't expect it to sell out, and I doubt Joe's people expect that either.  The grayed out areas in the back are probably not even being sold.  This place can hold 16,000 people - quite a massive place by Joe's current standards anyplace (not counting "special" venues like Red Rocks or Radio City).

I think it is a nice gesture to have a show close enough to Canada that Joe's fans from that area can actually attend an event without flying or spending a very long time in the car.  Very much looking forward to this show and seeing some of my friends that live in that neck of the woods (5 hour plus drive for me this time).

Three more sleeps!  My Gibson JB signature Studio just got a set up, no way would I hand it to Joe to sign and it not be in top form...just in case he happens to strum it!

Any other Canadians going to the Bangor show?

Hey for those staying over after the show we should all meet for drinks somewhere. I am not sure if I could make a preshow get together I may be tied up with stuff before the show.

My brother and I will be staying in Bangor that night, an after Joe drink sounds great!


Side note...just picked up my JB Les Paul this afternoon from getting new strings and a set up.  As it turns out, the tech that did it is also the current tech for Ian Thornley of Big Wreck!  Now if I can only get Joe to play one bar of Django on it...
