"Beth Hart to release new album "Better Than Home" in April 2015!

Extensive World Tour Kicks off February 14th.

Many Dates Already Sold Out!"

“She’s all sizzle…” – Associated Press

“She has a talent with no ceiling.” – Huffington Post

“Beth’s tough, throaty voice…she uses that powerful instrument to best effect on dramatic, arena filling ballads.” – American Songwriter

“Often reminiscent of Etta James and Janis Joplin, Hart’s vocals mine emotions at levels so deep they would scare most singers.” – Music Connection

"Grammy© Award-nominated blues-rocker Beth Hart, highly revered for her visceral vocals and dynamic range, is set to release her new studio album entitled Better Than Home in April 2015. For more than 2 decades, Hart has been leveling audiences around the globe with her impassioned live performances and disarming songwriting. Better Than Home is her most profound body of work to date, pulling listeners into its beautiful depths in the way that only Hart can do.  She will embark on an extensive world tour in support of the album in 2015 that is already selling out venues across the globe. The tour will kick off at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on February 14th. The full list of confirmed tour dates is below (more dates to be announced).

Hart’s most introspective and compelling album yet, Better Than Home peels back the intimate layers of her personal pain to not only examine them but transform them into something empowering and insightful. It has been no secret over the years that Hart’s greatest wealth of inspiration has come from intense periods of struggle in her life, from the loss of her sister to AIDS, to drug use and family strife, to an eventual bipolar diagnosis that was both frightening and liberating. The ultimate conqueror, Hart bounced back at full creative strength prepared to own and share her story.

On the title song “Better Than Home” we meet a migrating soul, face to face with her maker. “Mechanical Heart” is a powerful love song to Hart’s husband of 15 years, vowing that she will find a way to give him all that he deserves despite her emotional limitations. “Tell Her You Belong To Me” is one of the most personal songs for Hart, sung from the perspective of a daughter when her father remarries. Some levity is brought to the album with the track “You Might As Well Smile,” a reminder to not take things too seriously."

Re: Beth Hart

"Grammy Award-nominated blues-rocker Beth Hart is set to release her new studio album Better Than Home in April 2015. Produced by American duo Michael Stevens and Rob Mathes, Better Than Home features eleven new songs from this gifted and fearless artist.

I vividly recall her performance at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest last year, which was one of my gigs of the year. I always knew Beth Hart had a killer, soulful voice. Seeing her live for the first time made me appreciate that the recordings I’d heard don’t really capture the drama, fragility, passion and emotion of this dynamic performer. The interplay with the lead guitarist was memorable, as were many of the songs – “Caught Out In The Rain” was chilling. By the end of the performance, she looked emotionally and physically exhausted, having held nothing back.

Reportedly, Better Than Home is another personal and uplifting release – a celebration of life from a woman who has battled numerous setbacks and personal demons to be at top of her game as a unique performer and classy singer/songwriter.

The first single from Better Than Home will be “Mechanical Heart” which is a love song to Hart’s husband of fifteen years.”

Re: Beth Hart

Last night's show at the Great American Music Hall was ROCKING!!!  It was a very high energy show with a lot of uptempo numbers. New drummer has more of a rock vibe.
The audience was really receptive and there was a huge reaction after every song. Beth was beaming. She seems to be really happy to be back on the road. The three new songs were excellent - they sound fantastic live.  Was a stellar evening. wink

As usual she didn't stick to the setlist. These were the songs actually played-

Nutbush City Limits
Good As it Gets
I'll Take Care of You
Waterfalls
Sick
For My Friend
Lifts You Up
If I Tell You I Love You
Mechanical Heart
Tell 'Em To Hold On
Trouble
Bang Bang Boom Boom
Baddest Blues
Rhymes
Miss Lady
----------------------
I'd Rather Go Blind
Mama This One's For You

In this Q&A she did she mentioned A LOT more U.S. gigging in the future. She said they were doing about 10% in the U.S. and it's going to change to 60%! (Thank you!)

Re: Beth Hart

Caught Beth's 2 shows at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. Beth did a great job, but at the second night's show we had quite an ordeal with the general manager. He didn't like the fact Phil was doing an audio recording so he hauled him off to the back to turn him in to Scott. We know Scott so when he saw Phil he shook his hand and was like "Hi, how are you doing?" GM was pissed and said, "This guy was recording!" Scott said, "he can record some of the songs just not the whole show." The GM was not thrilled, took Phil over to the entrance showed him a sign that said "no recording" and was talking about how he paid for Beth to be there. What that had to do with anything I don't know. This guy needs to get with the 21st century. Recordings and videos that are shared help bring customers into his place. Needless to say we were kind of freaked out for the rest of the night over the whole thing. Scott walked through the venue at one point after the ordeal, saw us and smiled and waved which was nice, but I don't think we will be going back to the Birchmere any time soon. I filmed 10 songs the first night and 4 the second. Was nice to hear the new songs off her upcoming album. "St. Teresa" was my favorite. It's very beautiful, yet quite sad.

I always kinda figured it was the folks buying tickets that paid for the act to be there.  In any case definitely not the compensated GM unless he happened to be the owner as well.
