Davy's new album "Outsider" is currently available for download for the people who were involved in the pledge campaign. We came in too late for that so haven't heard it yet. But I have heard that people who got it are enjoying it. Davy has recently set up a forum and new website. I asked on the forum when the new album will be available to others and he said that once all the people who pledged got their copy, they will do a general release.

Re: Davy Knowles

That pledge drive happened over two years ago - so long in fact that I honestly can't remember what I was supposed to get for my pledge.  I did receive the link for the download but have yet to do it.  Too many other things going on right now. I have been very disillusioned by all of what has gone on with him the last few years.  I loved his music, and he is very talented and a super nice guy, but honestly the constant delay and lack of touring has left a bad taste.  I'll get back into it sometime in the future, just not now.

Re: Davy Knowles

Just received the new Davy Knowles album yesterday and really loving it! It finally came available for mail order. It has a great variety of songs quite a few that we heard him do live last Spring. This album and Joe's new one are definitely my top favorites for the year. My only hope is that he starts to tour again soon. Really would love to see him again. If anyone is interested in it is available for purchase here: http://www.theconnextion.com/davyknowle … _index.cfm

Pity its not available to buy in the UK Natasha. Same as Ryan McGarvey which I had to send away for. I would recommend his album - The Road Chosen.

Natasha. You should give us a little review of the new album!I am curious how this compares in style to the first Back Door Slam album? is it softer ballads or mostly blues rockers?

Re: Davy Knowles

I'm curious about the content on the new album too.  I have both the Roll Away and Coming Up For Air CDs, and really like both of them.  I'm hoping the new CD has something along the same lines, more on the blues-rock side of things.

The only new song I've heard since these two releases a number of years back was the Pastures of Plenty cover of a Woodie Guthrie song, which was OK but more folkish and throw-back than blues-rock.  Hopefully it's not a new trend?

There is a really nice mix of songs on the album. We have seen quite a few of them live this year so if you're interested here are some videos I did of them:

"Outsider" http://youtu.be/x9nAjBKSxZU

"Overload" http://youtu.be/BEN3Nuwndgc

"Work A Little Harder" http://youtu.be/i1BGogTL3HY

"Catch The Moon" http://youtu.be/CQO4-0kGOCM

"Uprising" http://youtu.be/WB5fZLXO6HM

"Ain't No Grave" http://youtu.be/fbl-Q_keUZQ

Of course on the album they are in the studio and the sound is a lot better and more polished. There are also a few acoustic tracks on the album that are very nice as well.

Re: Davy Knowles

Stoked to say that Davy will be at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival in May of next year. It's going to be a good one. I don't know if he's playing Sat or Sun yet. http://www.bayblues.org/
