If I were manager of the Royals, I'd be walking that Panda every time he had a chance to hurt them. He's on fire and fires must be put out. Great series so far. smile

Apparently the Panda and the rest of the Giants didn't get the memo about the Royals bullpen being invincible.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Im having fun watching this.....dare I say Giants in 7 games?

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

I'm sure by now many of you heard about the death of Oscar Taveras the St. Louis rookie. The story within the story is that Juan Perez of the Giants was a very close friend. Perez found out by rumors swirling around the clubhouse just before the game started. He collected himself with some encouragement from team mates Joaquin Arias and Gregor Blanco. Sure enough he was sent in to pinch run then stayed in the game in left field and made 2 catches to stop the Royals. Then in a critical at bat he came within inches of hitting a ball out of straight away center field, but still drove in 2 runs to ice the game. I can't even imagine what he was feeling, but yet he channeled his grief into helping his team. Ironically in the NLCS it was Taveras that made the last out for Stl. that put Juan Perez and the Giants in the World Series. MadBum's awesome performance was the joyous story, but there was a tragic side to the game as well.

                                                                                           RIP Oscar Taveras,

I heard about Oscar, but didn't know about the relationship connections. The good and the bad...

Loved watching Bumgarner, the man has nerves of steel!!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Congrats to the Giants! The Chicago Sun Times referred to their run (3 WS's in 5 years) as a miniature dynasty. I'm not so sure about the "miniature" part.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

The common thread during the parade and the ceremony at City Hall Friday was keep the Panda in San Francisco! The offers will be staggering, but I hope he feels the love here in the City by the Bay!!!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

LOVE the Panda!!! Love it when he squats defensively on 3rd base and slides into a base with his big body. Great facial expressions too. And I love real Panda bears too.

Looks like relocating to the west coast was a great move for Hunter Pence, he is a real asset to the team.  I still am curious if he got a perm. big_smile

Congrats to San Fran!!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

VERY sad news with the passing of "Mr. Cub", Ernie Banks.  A legend on and off the field.  He was a great ambassador for the game and was as down to earth and humble as anyone that I have ever met.  We lost a great baseball player today, but the bigger loss was losing a great man, a great person today.
