Going to shoot off fireworks, then hit the park the next day to see a real team. I'll cheer the Padres but Los Gigantes will be good to see J Dawg. The owners tossed our GM to the wolves as a token to the p.o. ed fans here. This team is pitiful. I'm beginning to feel like a Cubs fan. yikes

Thanks Rick, Los Gigantes are back in 1st place after my other team, The Tribe, took down the fargin' Doyers last night coupled with another gutty gem from Timmy, shutting out the Cards for 8 innings and the pen salvaged the shutout. Have a BANG! on the 4th.

The Giants decided to roll the dice on Dan Uggla after the Braves released him last week. He played 2 games @ AAA Fresno and as fate would have it Marco Scutaro, Ehire Adrianza, & Joe Panik all went on the DL since Uggla was acquired so tonight he is starting @ 2B in SF against the Dodgers. The Giants are paying him the MLB minimum salary while ATL still owes him over 19 million!!! The Giants are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle like they did with Pat Burrell and Cody Ross in 2010.

Good luck with that one JDawg. Padres went all in and traded our talent and offed payroll for prospects, then had one of the remainders go + on dope. They are feilding a Triple A team now. roll (but still beating up the cubbies! smile )

He went 0-2, but made contact both at bats, but only 4 Giants have touched Grienke for a hit tonight. LA went to triples alley 5 times, so far, 3 by Puig. Not a good night for the home boys.

Well, I must say that after a wholesale clearance, new GM and more, the Padres have started to play some good ball. They might even break .500 for the season. A sniff of wild card chance is in the air? It's fun to watch them now. Loose and having fun every game.

They brought up some prospects from AAA. One you may be hearing a lot about in the future is Dominican Raymer Liriano, So far in his first 3 ML games, he got an RBI in the first, his first ML hit and run scored in the 2nd, and  launched a 425 ft. blast to the 3rd deck of the Western Metal terrace today. Not bad for a rookie. Oh, he also has great speed and is a fine outfielder. He also seems like a fine upstanding young man.  smile 9 out of 10 and next the Fargin Doyers.

Very nice outcome yesterday in the 4 games of the AL/NLDS. All the teams I favored came up winners. SF obviously, KC, StL, & Balt. So much to follow today in sports besides MLB with a full slate of NCAA pigskin action(watching my Buckeyes @ Terps now) and gotta get out to support friends bands playing an Art & Wine Festival in Pleasant Hill about 4pm. I love October! Never a shortage of FUN stuff to do.

Indeed! I told Helen after the 15th that it was going to take a mistake by one or the other pitcher to end it. Giants got lucky first.

Rick, all the Val Diamond parts are played by women, including my friend Stephanie Hargrove who has sung the anthem in that get up from Beach Blanket Babylon on numerous occasions. When I saw the costume I was hoping it was Stephanie cuz she NAILS the anthem, along with everything else she sings.
