Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

Yeah, they've been known for awhile now, It does seem a strange colour for a JBLP (it's not a colour you associate with Joe's guitars) but I do wonder if it's suppose to be an Epiphone Bonabird II.

Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

Says limited to 1,000 units....but we know what happened last time with the 2nd & 3rd releases of the Epi Goldtop ones..

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

That's where I figured the color came from.

Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

wrap around tailpiece and reverse firebird headstock? I would pay $800 for that Epiphone. Too bad those attributes are not on this guitar.

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

I can't see why they don't, seems like they would sell (I definitely would).

Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

So, I've never really gotten on with Les Pauls....   and I have been trying to get on with a PRS SC for a few years now, but I have never been married to it.   I always prefer my tele (and even my Gretsch for that matter).  However- I'm always willing to try, try again- sometimes you have to be in the right "mental place" at the right time when trying gear.   I'm seriously considering the Pellham Blue JBLP, but have a question about the neck...

I seems these LPs have rather large necks- some even describe them as "baseball bats"....  I love the neck on my tele, and also on my PRS.  I'm usually not a fan of chunky necks.....  can anyone compare the neck profile of the JBLPs to a PRS SE or Fender Tele (Am. Std) neck?

No, I've only ever tried my SE Singlecut, unfortunately...  I wonder if the Tremonti has the same neck, or if it's a custom profile?

I had an Epi LP once,  few years ago...  just a standard model.... the neck on it was fine.... anybody know if the Epi JB neck profiles are the same or close to the standard Epi neck profile?

An American Music Supply catalogue just hit my office door. I was automatically tossing it in the garbage until I noticed the cover:

Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

While I would rather have a GIBSON Les Paul rather than an EPIPHONE Les Paul, purely based on name I admit...  I'm not enough of a "LP man" or even "humbucker guy" to spend big bucks...  and I think the Pelham Blue is a great color, and I even love the brown case with PINK lining!  LOL   It seems to be a nicely matched "package" LOL

That's a shot from the Ryman Auditorium show I think. This guitar sounded really great when  Joe played it. Of course the key to that it was Joe playing it.  I think he could make a cigar box guitar sound good

Re: Epi JB LP Pelham Blue

Was dipping my toes in the Bay today and saw this new listing for a JB Pelham Blue Epi ...

Saw the thumbnail of the offering ... and along the the case and COA ... I said "what is that in the center of the goodies?" ... "looks like some kind of cool headstock wine stopper" ... thought ... "they didn't come with them that I knew of?"

I then enlarged the photo ... and my heart dropped ...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-Limite … 3cfb335a81

(Headstock wine stopper ... maybe not the worst store idea smile )

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

JBLP#251 (unaged) ... thank you Ron.

Oops. Mine only had the pickup selector switch broken. There was a thread about guitars sounding better with repaired headstocks recently. Could be a candidate to test the theory.

If that's the case ...with fixing a break like this one ... this girl could end up sounding close to a '59 (in the right hands big_smile) ... think I'd rather have to replace the switch!
