Topic: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Wow, what a show! Joe was on fire! The whole thing was just fantastic! The crowd was so well behaved, you could have heard a pin drop at the quiet parts. Our seats were better than I expected, nobody sitting in front of me, woohoo! Absolutely clear shot of everyone and on Derek's side so I could actually see his hands on the keyboard. These are going to be some amazing videos. Here is "Athens to Athens" where Joe did a cool extra bit to his solo.

Joe tells a funny story of a bad experience he had the last time he played in Roanoke 13 years ago, and then they do Look Over Yonders Wall Great close up of both Derek and Lenny

Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Thank you again for posting the awesome vids. Wife and I are still watching your vids from the Cleveland show everyday after work. A week later and we still can't believe what we saw take place live at the State Theater. Can't wait to see the rest of your work from this show. The offer is still on....if we ever meet the beverages are on us.

Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Glad everyone is enjoying them. Very pleased with how they've come out. Seats were perfect for filming. Here is the Ballad of John Henry The solos by Derek and Joe are just phenomenal!

Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Stones In My Passway Joe seems to be in the habit of breaking strings on this song. Probably because of the slide work. Happened both here and in Cleveland. After the song finished he looks at the guitar and comments "I broke the hell out of that string!" smile

Funny how Derek has this biker look going on now

Natasha,
It was so nice to meet you and your husband (and Cathy and Jane and Todd, as well!).  You had a great angle for filming!

The vids are looking great.  It's nice to relive those fabulous moments of Joe's genius, but also see the funny commentary he gave.  Keep 'em coming!

I was so jazzed up after the show it took hours to settle down!

Cathy--a very special Thank You to you for the button.  You're the best!

I'm addicted.

Thanks Suzanne, it was nice meeting you and your husband as well. I know what you mean about being keyed up after a show. I think I've only gotten 9 hours sleep in 2 days smile We are home now, so back to reality. Nice to have fast internet. I have uploaded all of the acoustic set at this time. I still can't get over how good our seats were for this show. When I don't have to keep dodging around peoples heads I can actually film by keeping the camera low and just glance at the screen from time to time and therefore be able to watch everything on stage at the same time. Makes such a difference. Here is the rest of the acoustic set

Re: Joe was on fire in Roanoke!

Here is the rest of the electric set. It is cool to be able to see Carmine dancing around behind Joe in a few of these videos. I'm usually not at the right angle to capture Carmine, so it's nice to finally have some like that.

Who's Been Talking Got some nice close ups on Joe's fingers during his solo

Slow Train At about 6:39 when Joe is at the finale of his solo you can see Lenny just shaking his head in amazement, watching Joe and Tal is watching also with a smile on his face clapping his sticks together. A priceless moment smile

Django/Mountain Time I was able to get a real nice close up of Joe's fingers during Django. Such a beautiful song
